National women karate moot from Nov 9

Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto” 8th National Women Karate Championship will be held here from November 9. “Top female martial art experts will display their talent and potential in the three-day annual premier activity “, said a spokesman of PKF on Monday. Teams from all the affiliated units of PKF including Army, Wapda, Railways, Police, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Islamabad and Higher Education Commission will compete in the competition which aims at further popularising the game. Following events / weight categories will be contested, individual kumite (below 45kg, below 50kg, below 55kg, below 61kg, below 68kg, above 68kg. “Wapda’s women Karate team will defend the title”, he said adding “The event will serve as trials for picking up players for attending a training camp to prepare the team for participation in the 12th South Asian Games being held in India”. On the side lines of the championship PKF will be organising referee/judges course. Nasim Qureshi, Asian qualified / chief referee of PKF will conduct the useful activity which will enhance the existing knowledge of the participants.
