CPWB takes seven children into custody during past week

Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) Rawalpindi rescued seven children found begging on the city’s roads during the past week.
According to district officer CPWB, children found begging on the roads are taken into custody by the bureau as rescue teams along with the police regularly visit areas where the majority of beggars are to be found in the city.
Rescue teams of CPWB during operation in Faizabad, Pirwadhai, Scheme III, Gulraiz, Daewoo Adda and Saddar took seven children found begging into its custody.
The children taken in custody are identified as Gul Hassan, Gul Khan, Usman, Bilal, Jandar Khan, Ibrahim and Asif.
The children were presented in Child Protection Court for their legal custody.
Moreover, family tracing unit of the bureau handed over six children taken in custody to their parents a week back on provision of an affidavit that the children would not beg in future.
