The use of illegal mobile SIMs has become the most lethal form of terrorism, more than anything else. Recently, thousands of fabricated active SIMs of a leading telecom company had been confiscated from their premises and most of them were being sent to FATA. In a recent press conference the Senior Superintendent Police Sargodha said that no action would be taken against the cellular company employee who cooperated with the police and shared any information regarding the fraudulent SIMs.
Why isn’t this pushing under the carpet, a very serious crime, being taken strict notice of? It seems that instead of investigating the case thoroughly the police have issued its own verdict which as per law is not their job. This statement is hampering the legality of the issue and is beyond logical understanding.
If police officials were given cash and commendation certificates on this raid, then why these company officials who committed the crime with these illegal SIMs will be spared?
