Shortage of staff within FIA causes concerns in Asghar Khan case probe

A shortage of staff within the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has caused problems with respect to investigation of the Asghar Khan case. The decision of who to hand the investigation over to had become a difficult one for the interior advisor because of a shortage of staff. According to a private television channel, the Asghar Khan case was a tough one for FIA and hence a lot of work, with respect to the case, had already been completed by the Supreme Court. According to sources, FIA faced a shortage of staff with respect to investigating the case. Sources provided details of the staff, stating that two senior FIA officials Hussain Asghar and Khalid Qureshi were currently working on the Hajj corruption and Mumbai attack case respectively, Khadim Hussain Bhatti was currently investigating the Lahore Chief Justice’s murder conspiracy case. Meanwhile Ahmed Latif, Wajid Zia, Zafar Awan and Inaam Ghani were posted in various areas of the country.
