CS asks officers ‘at helm of affairs’ to keep vigil on cattle market

Sindh Chief Secretary Raja Mohammad Abbas has directed all commissioners, metropolitan administrators and other relevant officials including deputy commissioners to keep strict vigil on the cattle markets to meet public needs on eve of Eid.
He in his directives issued on Sunday asked the officials to be extremely cautious towards regular water supply to these markets besides ensuring that feed needs of the cattle is duly met.
This essential care of cattle meant to meet our religious obligations, he said was incumbent upon all Muslims. The chief secretary said reports received from different markets that cattle traders due to their limitations or otherwise are unable to take due care for the feed and water needs of the animal meant to be sacrificed has to be countered with due sensitivities.
Any callousness on part of traders can hold its bearing on the purchaser of the sacrificial animal as there is every chance of serous risk to their survival, said Raja Mohammad Abbas.
Meanwhile, Additional Inspector General of Police Iqbal Mahmood has directed the city police to launch in close coordination with traffic police a crackdown against vehicles moving around with tinted or coloured window panes, blue revolving lights, fancy and unauthorized number plates.
Chairing a meeting in his office, he has also asked all divisional superintendent police officers to submit the details about compliance of his directives in two days time, said director press, Sindh police on Sunday.
With regard to law & order situation, during Eid, the IG said the code of conduct issued by provincial home department about matters related to hide donation and collection must be strictly followed. AIG Iqbal Mahmood said all stakeholders must be duly communicated details of the code of conduct issued by the home department and they must be motivated to strictly comply with it.
Dry weather to persist in Sindh : Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast a dry weather for all parts in Sindh including Karachi and Sukkur where a misty morning could also be experienced on Monday. According to the weather report, issued on Sunday, day temperatures had fallen at number of places in Sindh during past 24 hours, these were two to eight degrees centigrade below normal. Highest maximum temperature (38 degree centigrade), during this period, was recorded in Mithi.
