A teenage couple in Multan committed suicide on Friday after not being able to marry each other, while a man killed his sister and her husband in Bhakkar several years after their marriage. In the first incident, police said a teenage boy and girl, residents of the Khudadad Colony in Multan, had taken poisonous pills after facing opposition from their families over their desire to marry each other. Police said both were rushed to Nishtar Hospital in critical condition, but they breathed their last before doctors could provide any treatment. The boy was a student of class nine, and the girl was in the first year of college. The parents of the deceased lovers termed their death a “natural” one. Elsewhere in the Kalorkot tehsil of Bhakkar district, a man identified as Imran shot dead his sister Kalsoon and brother-in-law Bilal over love marriage, while injuring their two-year-old daughter. Police said the couple had married each other several years ago. The accused fled after committing double murder. Police registered a case against the accused on a complaint registered by his father.
