3 FC men killed, 10 others injured in Quetta blast

Three personnel of Frontier Corps Balochistan were killed and another 10 people received injuries in a powerful bomb blast on Friday. The Baloch Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the attack. According to details, two vehicles carrying FC personnel were on a patrolling duty in Chaki Shawani area on Sariab Road when a powerful bomb explosion occurred. As a result, three FC men were killed, while three others were among the 10 people injured in the blast.
The injured were rushed to hospitals where two are said to be critical. Lt Col Maqbool Ahmad said the explosives were attached to a cycle parked along the road and was detonated when the vehicles went by it. He said one of the vehicles came in the explosion’s range and three soldiers were killed, while three other soldiers and seven civilians received injuries. DIG Investigation Hamid Shakeel said the explosives were detonated with the help of a remote control and the FC convoy was the target. Meanwhile Jeand Baloch, spokesman for the Baloch Liberation Army, called various newspaper offices and claimed responsibility for the attack. He expressed concern over the injuries caused to civilians, saying his group had time and again warned commoners to stay away from security forces who were on their target.
