Commuters believe that U-turns on Faisal Avenue, near Zero Point Interchange, Jinnah Super and surrounding make them prone to fatal accidents. Passenger vans while taking U-turns do not care about traffic coming from the opposite side, which causes accidents. Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has not deployed officials at these U-turns to control the traffic, and neither has the Capital Development Authority (CDA) taken steps to complete the construction work. Nadeem Ali, a professional, said, “Taking a U-turn, especially during peak hours in the morning and evening, is a daunting challenge for drivers. While planning the mega project of the interchange, this aspect had not been considered.” Another commuter alleged that construction work on the interchange had begun without proper planning. Construction of the interchange was meant to ensure smooth traffic flow, but U-turns were negating this purpose.
