No holiday for sanitary workers on Eid

The City District Government will deploy around 1,553 sanitary workers in different areas of the city to keep the town neat and clean during Eid-ul-Azha.
The district government finalized a comprehensive cleanliness plan for Eid-ul-Azha to get rid of entrails and offal of animals. All available resources would be utilized to accomplish the task.
District Officer (Solid Waste Management) Dr Mazhar Azeem told APP on Thursday that 65 vehicles would be part of the special drive to remove remains of sacrificial animals from every nook and cranny of the city.
According to the plan, Rawal Town had been distributed into four sectors to make cleanliness arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha effective and a control room would also be set up.
Commercial Market, Satellite Town, Sadiqabad, New Katrian, Pindora and other areas would be included in Sector A. Makha Singh street, Millat colony, Muslim Town, Afandi Colony, Mohala Cha Sultan, Araya Mohala, Amarpura and other areas would be included in Sector B. Main commercial areas of the city including Raja Bazaar, Shah Nazar Dewan, Jamia Masjid Road, Liaquat Road, Kartarpura, Akalghar, Bunni, Kohati bazaar and adjacent areas would be included in Sector C. Peerwadhai, Khaiban-e-Sir-Syed, Dhoke Matkal, Dhoke Hassu, Fauji Colony and its surrounding areas would be included in sector D.

The District Officer said that the solid waste management department had cancelled Eid holidays of around 1,600 sanitary workers and officials of the department to ensure cleanliness during Eid.
