At least eight militants were killed and several others sustained severe injuries on Thursday when security forces backed by fighter planes bombed suspected militant positions in different parts of Bara sub-tehsil in Kurram Agency, destroying four militant hideouts. Following the attack, security forces were on high alert in the suburban area of Budabair in Peshawar.
According to sources, security in areas of Matni and Budbaghair was already on high alert following the sudden attacks on Mashu gagger checkpost and Bara sheikhan. Police with heavy cache of weaponry were patrolling the areas on gunship vehicles.Security forces were also deployed near the American consulate and other sensitive places
