Sindh Chief Secretary (CS), Raja Muhammad Abbas, called for devising an effective strategy for resolution of problems of trade and industry areas in the province.
He was chairing a meeting with the office bearers of Federal “B” Area Association of Trade and Industry at his office on Wednesday. The CS directed the departments of Industries, Labour, Home and police to coordinate with the industrial and trade Associations of the province and Federal “B” Area Association of Trade and Industry (FBAATI) for bringing to book criminal and extortion mafias breeding in the economic zones. The CS constituted a coordination committee for FBAATI whose convener would be Sindh Secretary Industries and members would include SESSI, KWSB and representatives of the FBAATI. The coordination committee would liaison amongst all stakeholders to address the outstanding complaints at or against respective departments.
The CS asked the Secretary Local Government, KMC Administrator and KW&SB M.D to resolve issues pertaining to fire tenders, cleaning of water and sewerage pipes in F.B Industrial Area. He ordered inspection of factories regarding adequate fire fighting equipment and labour welfare. He warned of strict actions against both industrials and government officers in case of a slack in emergency precautions.
Four Talukas of HYD immunised: Children aged up to ages of five of all four Talukas of Hyderabad district were administered polio drops.
Hyderabad District Polio Focal Person Dr Muhammad Ashraf Memon said that 711 mobile teams were targeting 285,664 children of the district for anti polio vaccination. Apart from the mobile teams going door to door to vaccinate, 90 fixed points established at public and private hospitals and 37 camps at bus stands and railway station were also operating.
