Chinese State leader Li Changchun reiterated his country’s all out support to Pakistan in safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“We fully stand by Pakistan in its efforts to overcome its internal and external crises”. He said this during his detailed interaction and discussion with a group of intellectuals, former diplomats and journalists here at a local hotel.
Li Changchun, Member of Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee further said his country is also willing to help Pakistan in implementing any of its projects which helps to improve the living-condition of its people.”
He said China is proud of its friendship with Pakistan and wished that their decades-old partnership should continue from generation to generation. “The Sino-Pak traditional exemplary friendship does not match with any other relationship in the world”, he remarked.
Those who participated in the discussion included Senator Mushahid Husasain Syed, former ambassador Riaz Muhammad Khokhar, former ambassador Ashraf Jahangir Qazi and Retired General Ehsanul Haq.
Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Liu Jian was also present on the occasion.
Li Changchun said Pakistan is a great country and it has capacity to successfully deal with its internal and external issues.
Chinese government and the Peoples highly admire Pakistan’s efforts to combat terrorism and extremism. The people and armed forces of Pakistan offered tremendous sacrifices in this connection, he added.
He also accepted various suggestions put forward by the Pakistani side, regarding further consolidating their economic and trade ties as well as augmenting cooperation in fields of education, culture and media.
He said Chinese government wishes to have greater interaction and exchanges of delegations between the two countries at political, social and cultural levels in order to strengthen people-to-people contacts.
He said warm friendly feelings of the people of Pakistan and China are the solid basis of their existing strong partnership. Sino-Pak friendship is source of peace and stability in the region. This friendship stood test of the time, and survived successfully in the wake all ups and downs at regional and international level, he added.
The consultative meeting, he hoped will pave the way to open new avenues of bilateral cooperation.
Main Habibullah, President All Pakistan-China friendship welcomed the visiting guest and said the visit took place at a crucial moment when Pakistan was facing many challenges at domestic front.
A documentary was shown on the occasion that reflected various phases of their historical relationship, since establishment of their diplomatic ties.
