Naval Chief apprises Senate Defence Committee of PN’s plans

The Members of Senate Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production, headed by Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed visited Naval Head Quarters (NHQs) on Wednesday.
On arrival at NHQs, the Committee members called on Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila.
Later, the Committee members were briefed on Prevailing Maritime Security and Pakistan Navy’s role in maintaining peace and stability in the region. Committee members were also apprised of PN’s Operational and Development Plans to protect maritime interests of Pakistan.
The Chairman Senate Standing Committee expressed his satisfaction over PN operational and developmental Plans which have been formulated to safeguard Pakistan’s maritime interests.
The Committee members, while acknowledging PN efforts in nation building, especially in the health and education sectors, appreciated PN’s endeavors in service of nation, particularly on flood relief operations in the province of Sindh and Balochistan.
The Committee also acknowledged PN’s efforts in developing various facilities in coastal areas which will help in uplifting socio – economic condition of Baloch people. The Senate Committee assured its support to facilitate Pakistan Navy in meeting its requirements to address critical capability gap by actively pursuing the Government of Pakistan.
