The railway track of Dera Allahyar section of Jacobabad was repaired and train service resumed after 38 days on Wednesday.
According to Railway sources, the train service had been suspended on Dera Allahyar track after the rains and flooding in the area on September 8. Due to the closure of the track, the train service from Quetta to interior parts of the country and vice versa had been suspended. However, the track was repaired and the train service was resumed on Wednesday.
The departure of trains from Quetta to other parts of the country will start from today (Thursday). Rawalpindi bound Jaffar Express will leave at 9 am while Bolan Mail will leave at 11 am for Karachi.
The train passengers are relieved after the resumption of the service.
Thirty eight days to repair railway track is just unjustified, lethargic and unprofessionalism of the Railway Department. It also shows the insensitivity of the Government towards the people and bad governance.
I am sure if Army was summoned, this would have been done in few days. But is Army responsible to clean the muck of every one.
Railway has been destroyed by the corruption and thefts of its Officers and employees. When those without a conscience are given charge of public utilities, people suffer.
