China values Pakistan’s contribution in war against terrorism

Chairman Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Zhao Qizheng has said that China values Pakistan’s sacrifices in the War against Terrorism as well as the country’s contribution towards ensuring peace and stability in the region.
He said this when Charge d’ Affaires of the Pakistan Embassy, Zahoor Ahmed called on Zhao Qizheng here Wednesday. Mr Zhao Qizheng will be leading a delegation to Pakistan later this month and hold meetings with country’s top leadership.
While extending best wishes to the delegation for the success of their visit to Pakistan, Zahoor Ahmed said that Pakistan China friendship is spread over six decades and has deep roots in the hearts of the two nations.
He said all segments of the Pakistani society and the entire political spectrum of the country unanimously support further strengthening of ties with China in all fields.
Zhao Qizheng said that Pakistan and China are old friends and good neighbors. He said although relations between our two countries are very strong, we must take steps to take them to a higher level.
He said CPPCC is the major political advisory body of the government of China. Its purpose is to provide a forum for full consultation with representative figures from different segments of society before the state adopts any important measures that may have a bearing on the economy and the people’s welfare, he noted.
Because of his vast experience, in media development, Zhao Qizheng is regarded as the father of public diplomacy in China. Prior to this, he remained Vice Mayor of Shanghai, Member of CPPCC National Committee, CPC Committee, Director of the Information Office of the State Council and Director of the International Communication Office of the CPC Central Committee.
