The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue1122) on Monday successfully completed eight years of life saving services with rescue of over 1.5 million victims of emergencies across the province. In this regard, a special ceremony was organized here at PCSIR Auditorium. Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, Senior Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister, Mujeeb ur Rehman Shami, former president of All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) and the district emergency officers (DEOs) from all districts were also present. The Director General Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue1122) Dr Rizwan Naseer presented a special report pertaining to performance of the service during the last eight years. He further said that a comprehensive system of emergency response has been established, which includes emergency ambulance, rescue, fire, disaster response and community safety services.
Dr. Rizwan also paid special thanks to Scotish Parliamentarian Bailie Hanzala Malik and the British Parliamentarian Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar for their continuous support and contribution in establishing first modern fire service in Pakistan.
Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa also congratulated the PES on establishing the first modern emergency service in Pakistan and extending its cooperation and technical assisting to KPK, AJ&K, Karachi and Gilgit Baltistan in establishing Rescue Services System.
