PDMA declares DG Khan and Rajanpur calamity-hit areas

Provincial Disaster Management Authority Director General Mujahid Sherdil on Monday said that on the special instructions of Punjab chief minister, 80 flood affected villages of Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan have been declared as calamity-hit. A formal notification has been issued in this regard. In a statement, he said that the villages which have declared as calamity-hit include 65 of Rajanpur and 15 of Dera Ghazi Khan.
On the directives of Punjab chief minister, he added, survey of these flood affected areas was conducted immediately after water receded and in the light of this survey, a decision has been taken to provide relief to the flood affectees of these villages for compensation of their losses.
He said that abiayana, income tax, development and local tax of the affectees of these villages have been completely waived while the concerned bank and heads of other departments have been directed to defer the loans of the affectees of the calamity-hit villages and immediate measures be made for the provision of more loans to them for the cultivation of next crop.
