Around 10,000 Muslims gathered outside the offices of Google in London to protest against the anti-Islam film and force the company to remove it from YouTube. A bigger protest would be organised in the coming days in Hyde Park. “Our future protests will be held at the offices of Google and YouTube across the world. We are looking to get the film banned,” The Telegraph quoted Masoud Alam, organiser of the London protest. “This is not freedom of expression; there is a limit for that. This insult of the Prophet will not be allowed,” he further said.
The protesters carried placards saying: “Prophet Mohammed is the founder of freedom of speech” and “We love our prophet more than our lives”. Dozens of imams delivered speeches in Arabic, Urdu and English urging Muslims to honour the name of the Prophet (PBUH). Sheikh Fayez al-Aqtab Siddiqui said, “Terrorism is not just to kill human bodies, but to kill human feelings as well. The makers of this film have terrorised 1.6 billion people.” “Organisations like Google are key players and have to take responsibility for civility. You can’t just say it doesn’t matter because it’s freedom of speech. It’s anarchy,” he added. According to the website, a YouTube spokesperson said, “We work hard to create a community everyone can enjoy and which also enables people to express different opinions.
