The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to obtain Pakistan Army’s assistance for the national voters’ day to be held on Oct 17. According to media reports, a meeting of the ECP held under the chairmanship of the Additional Secretary of the Election Commission Afzal Khan, reviewed preparations for the national voters’ day. Khan said that a national voters’ day would be held in order to increase public awareness regarding the elections and the ECP had requested Pakistan Army’s assistance for the purpose.
Khan requested the civil society, political parties and media to play their respective roles in increasing public awareness on the importance of voting.
