The 12th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization has started in Baku.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari, Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Afghanistan’s President Hamid Karzai, Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaker of Uzbekistan parliament Ilgozar Sobirov, senior officials from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, are attending the summit.
President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Baku Tuesday to represent Pakistan at the 12th Summit of Economic Cooperation Organization.
President Zardari will also meet with leaders of other countries on the sidelines of the Summit and discuss bilateral relations and regional issues.
The Summit provides a platform to discuss ways to promote trade and investment opportunities among the member countries. The common objective of the member countries is to establish a single market for goods and services on the patron of European Union.
Baku Declaration 2012 will be adopted at the conclusion of the summit while ECO awards presented during the event.
