At least 11 persons including women and children were killed and more than 40 others injured in separate road accidents in different localities of Sindh province on Tuesday.
According to police, the first accident took place near Sujawal Bypass in Thatta where two vehicles collided head-on resulting in death of three persons while more than 10 others including women and children were left injured.
The police and rescue personnel shifted the bodies and injured to hospital.
In Moro area of district Nawabshah, a Karachi bound passenger bus coming from Sukkur overturned due to opening of tie-rod.
As a result of accident eight people including three women and children were killed on the spot while 30 others sustained wounds.
The local people rushed to the scene and started the rescue operation which was later joined by police and rescue personnel.
The bodies and injured were shifted to Moro and Shahpur Jhanian hospitals where according to hospital sources condition of some injured people was serious.
2012 marked the banner year for one of the most deadly traffic accidents in Pakistan's recent history. Traffic enforcement needs to be better in implementation. Another thing that was sorely under-performing was the rescue teams for covering the area.
