PM leaves for Kuwait to attend Asian Cooperation Dialogue in Kuwait

Prime Minister Raja Parvez Ashraf left here on Monday for a three day visit to Kuwait to attend the first Summit of Asian Cooperation Dialogue.
Talking to the media persons before departure at Chaklala airbase, the Prime Minister said that Asian Cooperation Dialogue formed in 2002 is an important platform providing opportunity for regional partnership and cooperation in different spheres.
He said it is the first heads of government level Summit in Kuwait in which cooperation in different sectors including energy, infrastructure and environment will be discussed.
He said thirty one member countries will attend the Summit and on the sidelines of it, he will hold talks with the leaders of those countries on bilateral relations and matters of mutual interests.
The Prime Minister said there are several other organizations for regional cooperation and this forum provides an opportunity to further bolster and strengthen the cooperation at the regional level.
Responding to a question, the Prime Minister said Pakistan has excellent cordial relations with the fraternal country Kuwait. He said Kuwait is Pakistan’s friend and talks with the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Prime Minister, Sheikh Jaber Mubarak al-Hamad Al-Sabah would encompass cooperation in different fields.
When asked about the treatment of Malala Yousafzai, the Prime Minister said the daughter of the nation was provided with best possible medical treatment at home and now she has been shifted to Britain for more treatment.
He said the entire world including people belonging to every religion and sect has condemned the terror attack on Malala Yousafzai. He said he and the entire nation prays for the early recovery of Malala Yousafzai.
