52 profiteers fined in Islamabad

Islamabad Capital Territory Administration during on-going crackdown against the profiteers in Islamabad, imposed fine amounting to Rs41,200 on 52 profiteers for over charging and not displaying the rate lists of food items.
On the directives of the Deputy Commissioner Aamir Ali Ahmad, assistant commissioners and magistrates checked prices of various items in their respective areas.
During the price checking, fines amounting to Rs41,200 on 52 profiteers were imposed for overcharging and not displaying rate list.
They warned them to ensure displaying rate list of fruit and vegetables and other commodities, rates of which had been already notified for strict implementation.
Meanwhile, assistant commissioner rural Islamabad Maryam Mumtaz conducted price checking in rural areas and imposed fines up to Rs 4,500.
