YDA announces ‘long march’ towards Lahore

Punjab Young Doctors’ Association, in a meeting held in Multan on Saturday, announced a ‘long march’ to hold demonstrations in favour of their demands and against the Punjab government. It was decided that the doctors would march from Rahim Yar Khan and Rawalpindi to Lahore and would then stage a sit-in in front of the CM House on November 7. The meeting also decided that peaceful protests would be held all over Punjab from Monday, Oct 15 at the Children’s Hospital, followed by one in Rahim Yar Khan on Tuesday, in PIC on Wednesday, in Bhawalpur on Thursday, Mayo Hospital on Saturday, Faisalabad on Monday, October 22, Rawalpindi on Tuesday, October 23, Jinnah Hospital on Wednesday, Services and Ganga Ram Hospital on Thursday, Gujranwala and Gujrat on Saturday and Lahore General Hospital and Sheikh Zayed Hospital on Monday, November 5. The meeting also decided that banners would be displayed and contact campaign with religious and political parties would be initiated. “We will fight till the end,” the YDA spokesman said on the occasion.
