Three brothers held in Malala Yousafzai murder attempt

Swat police arrested three brothers from a mosque in Nowshehra on Saturday in connection with the attempted assassination of Malala Yousafzai. An official from Swat police informed that the three brothers belonged to Mingora, Swat, and were associated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Swat Chapter. The official said that arrested persons included Abdul Haji, Irfan and Inaam. One of them was appointed as a ‘khateeb’ in a mosque at Akbar Pura, Nowshehra. Swat police confirmed the detention of some 25 persons, who are currently being interrogated. Meanwhile, protests continued against the attempted assassination of Malala. The third day of protests, arranged by Pakhtoonkhwa Civil Society Network, saw a large number of people visiting the camp at Aman Park, Peshawar. Rukhshanda Naaz, Shabina Ayaz, Idrees Kamal and Zar Ali Khan Musazai were amongst the attendees. The protesters have demanded that the government arrest the terrorists involved in the attack as soon as possible.
