American journalist and friend of Benazir Bhutto, Mark Siegel, will travel to Pakistan next month and record his statement regarding the former prime minister’s assassination case. He has been dubbed as an important witness in the case. Siegel will record his statement before Anti-Terrorism Court. In his testimony to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Siegel said that prior to coming to Pakistan, Benazir had told him that she had received a call from the then president, Pervez Musharraf, who warned her and said she was deviating from the deal and that the government will not be responsible for her security in Pakistan.
