Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif said on Saturday that the current accountability bill was aimed at protecting looters, plunderers and usurpers and PML-N would put up stiff resistance against its passage.
“The PPP government has presented an accountability bill through the back door rather than through consensus to cover up its corruption. This is not acceptable to us in any way. This bill has been framed to protect thieves, looters and usurpers wherein national interests have been sidelined fully. PML-N has always talked of principles and we will not allow this bill to be passed at any cost,” said Nawaz while talking to media men in Muslim League House, after paying condolence to MPA Mian Yawar Zaman on the death of his mother. “Malala Yousufzai was an intelligent daughter of this nation who put her life at stake for upholding an ideology and embarked upon a sacred mission of promotion education,” he observed, adding that the brutal attack on her was tantamount to challenging the writ of the entire nation. “The time has come to deal with such forces sternly and utilise all our resources to root out such elements,” he remarked. “Pakistan’s future is very bright and its reflection lies in Malala Yousufzai,” he remarked. “The Government of Punjab has taken upon itself to transform Punjab into a literate province,” he claimed.
Does he believe in consensus?
He beleives or not, but on this issue I fully endorse his views….this is a bill which in general is legalising " corruption " protecting the Corrupt through such clause " if done in good faith " – Corruption & done in good faith ? & who is going to interpret that ?
Simply afraid of accountability. Amendments can be made through debate but PML-N is even running away from any debate in the assembly.
