Malala Yousufzai, a prominent child activist shot in the head by Taliban, showed signs of improvement by moving her limbs. Though she remained unconscious and on a ventilator on Sunday.
Reports said a medical board in Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) conducted Malala’s tests and checkup and described her condition ‘satisfactory’ afterwards.
The decision on whether to remove the ventilation and move her to Dubai is yet to be taken, military spokesman Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa said, while talking to media.
He said an air ambulance was on standby to fly her abroad in emergency as the board has not yet decided on it, keeping in view her improvement.
“The sedation given to Malala was reduced on Saturday so that neurosurgeons could do their clinical assessment and as a result of it Malala responded and moved her hands and feet,” Bajwa said.
“It is a positive development,” Bajwa told reporters in AFIC, where Malala is being treated in a military hospital.
“It is a case of serious head injury and the progress is very slow in it” he added.

  1. These are just early signs; however many YEARS (not days or weeks) of recovery and rehabilitation is to follow.

This act has united Pakistan, its different political parties and their supporters. There will be a paradigm shift in national thinking and as she registers improvement in years to come (minimum 5 years) there will be better understanding of slow recovery of penetrating head injuries causing traumatic brain damage.

Malala is young and at this age Brain has tremendous plasticity. I hope there is full recovery and I sincerely hope that this does not remain a wishful thinking.

Please continue to pray; in Masajids, in Mandirs, in Gurdawars , in Synagogues and in Churches.

I say this because there is one God and He is Rab-il- Alameen and not just Rab-il Muslameen. (Al hamd-o-llilah hay Rabil- Alameen. Suar Fateha).
