Lawyers halt activities to protest against Malala attack

The lawyers’ community observed a prayer day and halted all activities to show support for child activist Malala Yousufzai on Saturday. Lawyers from Lahore High Court (LHC), Rawalpindi Bar Association, District Bar Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Attock, Jhelum and Islamabad participated in the strike.
The Karachi Bar and Supreme Court Bar postponed all hearings till Monday. Some important cases including Benazir’s murder case was also put on hold.
Khyber Pukhtunkha lawyers on KP Bar Council’s call also went on strike to protest against the cowardly attack on the 14-year-old. The lawyers wore black bands to show sympathy and solidarity with the Malala’s cause.
