Intelligence officials have recovered a satellite phone from CIA informant Dr Shakeel Afridi, who helped the US kill Osama bin Laden last year, in Central Jail Peshawar, officials said on Sunday.
Four police officers, who were on duty, have been arrested after the incident. One of them confessed after the interrogation that he gave the phone to Afridi.
Sources said Shakil Afridi made 68 calls from the phone and most of them were to foreign countries.
Afridi allegedly gave interview to Fox News last month and talked about the “atrocities” he was facing in the hands of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
Afridi’s lawyer Sartaj Khan, however, rejected the interview claimed by the US website, saying it was a conspiracy against his client.
