Hundreds of students under the banner of Balochistan Private School Foundation (BPSF) on Saturday staged a protest demonstration outside Quetta Press Club against the brutal attack on peace activist Malala Yousufzai and her class mates in Swat.
The students carried posters of Malala, placards and banners inscribed with different slogans against the attack. Addressing the occasion, BPSF Chairman Jaffar Khan Kakar and other speakers including Mumtaz Khan Jadoon and Nazar Mohamamd Baraich said the attack on the girls was against the teachings of Islam. Religious extremism was increasing in Pakistan and this attack was a manifestation of the phenomenon, they added.
They stated that under no law could girls be deprived from their right of getting an education.
Earlier, they prayed for a smooth and early recovery of Malala and called for immediate arrests of those involved in the attack.
