Although, Sindh government has released 5 billion rupees to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), in term of out side Budget within ten months, Pakistan Today has learnt.
Sources in KMC told Pakistan Today that, Sindh government has been releasing 500 millions rupees for Out Side Budget, Special Grant and the salaries of employees, daily basis expenses and other stuffs, since December 2011.
Sources said, 4 billions amount were set for two development schemes in current fiscal years budgets 2012-13, in the name of Karachi Development Package, under KMC , Sindh Financial department 1 billion has released for above said schemes on 28th September 2012.
By law in Commissioner System 1979, Provisional Property Tax were recovering provincial government, and recovered amount were submitted in the account number 1 in State bank.
Provisional Property Tax were transfer to Local government during 2001 ordinance, according 2001 ordinance bylaw, recovered amount was transferred in provincial government account number 4 instead account number 1.
Nazmi System were defunct in province on October 2011, and restored Commissioner system 1979, by rule Local Property Tax had to recovered provincial government , and it had to submitted in state bank’s account number 1, provincial government had recovered 800million rupees in 9 months from October 2011 till to June 2012.
Source said, Sindh government transferred 25 % amount rupees 140.50 millions (14, crore 50lacs) to KMC from above said collected Local Property Tax, 800 millions.(80 Crore).
Meanwhile, Sindh government has released 5 billion rupees to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), with in 10 months.
Receiving above said amount, KMC still Suffering by financially problems, recently Karachi Administrator with Official of KMC met with to Chief Secretary Sindh, with Raja Muhammad Abbas, Such meeting was held on the instruction of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah.
Sources Said on, Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) had given a three-day ultimatum to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) to fulfill their demands on 24 September , sources told Pakistan Today, that MQM demanded for releasing fund KMC and resolve the problem of Local Government system.
MQM had withdrawn the 3-day ultimatum given to PPP government, on 27 September, after president Zardari assured to fulfill the demands.
Sources said, after PPP assured to fulfill the demands, Sindh government released 1 billion 665 millions to KMC on 28th September 2012 in the name of Out Side Budget and Special grants and Development schemes OF KMC.
