Sindh Chief Secretary (CS), Raja Muhammad Abbas directed the irrigation department to install solar energy plants in the province. The CS was presiding over a meeting at his office and directed Secretary Environment & Alternate Energy and Energy Power Department to draft a proposal for installation of 450 Solar Power plants in the province. Sindh Additional Chief Secretary, Nargis Ghallo, briefed the gathering regarding the adoption of alternative energy resources by the province as per the directives of the president. The CS told Secretary Irrigation to ensure expeditious action for installation of the solar energy kits .The Irrigation Department would install the 450 solar plants in two phases. The department has put its logistical cell motion for installation of 200 plants in the first phase.
The meeting was also attended by the EA&E Secretary Mir Hussain Ali, Implementation Secretary Noor Ahmed Leghari, Special Secretary Local Government, Suleman Chandio, P&D Chief Abdul Nabi Memon and Additional Secretary Irrigation, Khwaja M.Badi-Uzzaman.
