The United Nations (UN) will be requested to intervene for stopping US drone attacks in the Tribal Areas, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said on Tuesday. Addressing a press conference, Khan vowed to take the matter to the UN as it was in violation of its own charter. Criticising the government’s role on the issue, the PTI chief sarcastically advised the rulers to hold back their offer of engaging Taliban in a dialogue as their tenure in the government would be over in three months time. Khan claimed that the PTI would establish peace across the country including in the troubled area of Waziristan. He said his party would bring the people affected by the drone attacks to the Supreme Court to get them justice. The PTI chief also vowed to initiate a signature movement against the attacks at the global level. Commenting on parliamentarians’ dual national issue, Khan said contesting elections with dual nationality was in violation of the constitution. He said the PTI would provide electoral tickets to those who only possessed Pakistani nationality.
