The lack of teaching and non teaching staff in Model College for Girls I-8/3 has become a source of perpetual nuisance for female students of the federal capital. The college came into existence three years before being taken over by the federal directorate of education, but the lack of teaching staff has turned it into non-entity for the students.
A group of students said, “On our front we are facing a shortage of lecturers in key subjects and our curricular activities continue to remain disrupted throughout our academic year. The state of affairs shocks us when a teacher, who is hired from another college, quits teaching us just when our examinations are ahead.”
The principal, of the college, was forced to borrow teachers from other colleges to facilitate students. She had borrowed the teaching staff from Islamabad Model College for Girls F-7/2 and Islamabad Model College for Girls G-10/4, to meet demands of the college. Nida Hussain, a student complained, “Our woes have no end as we have to confront an inextricably odd situation when we see no assistant on the seat responsible for resolving our admission or fee related problems.” “The number of clerks installed at the college is highly disproportionate to our needs, our problems remain shelved and our applications are sent to the dustbin due to a deficiency of the clerical staff,” complained the students.
The students and their parents demanded an early appointment of teaching and non teaching staff, or they would be forced to shift to other colleges.
