‘Pawney 14 August’ comes to Islamabad

KOPYKATS Production will be performing a play ‘Pawney 14 August’ written by renowned Pakistani writer Anwar Maqsood, from October 10 to October 23, at the PNCA auditorium.
The play was performed in Karachi, in March, and became an overnight success. It ran 28 live performances to a packed house, every day. ‘Pawney 14 August’ is a thought provoking story of what Pakistan was perceived as and what Pakistan has become today. It revolves around three principal characters, Quaid-i-Azam, Allama Iqbal and Maulana Shaukat Ali, who have come to see where Pakistan stands today. Filled with questions and curiosity, the story is replete with a variety of characters representing Pakistan’s society from politics, business, military and film industry, etc. It is set at the Karachi Airport, where each passenger is a storyteller.
The production features some of the finest theatre actors from Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi, and is directed and produced by Dawar Mehmood, CEO of KOPYKATS Productions.
