Karachi University (KU) in collaboration with Bielefeld University (BU) organized a seminar titled; ‘EU and agenda of good governance; can it be a model for developing world?’
KU Director of Area Study Centre for Europe (ASCE), Dr Moonis Ahmar said that “a government which functions properly, which has its writ, which can provide good quality of life to its people and which is efficient is a good government”. Bielefeld University Institute of Interdisciplinary Research on Conflict and Violence political analyst Boris Wilke presented three propositions of governance; “Governance as a concept that lacks historical and sociological depth, Governance as a practice that does not represent a coherent ideology and lastly, countries of the global South should pursue a course of state building, path-dependent democratization”.
