After returning from his anti-drone “peace march” to South Waziristan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan said on Monday that the rally was a great opportunity for Pakistan to raise the issue of drone attacks on international level, however, the government and other parties had wasted the chance in order to protect their personal interests.
“The government machinery opposed us rather than cooperating with us on raising the issue of drone attacks on innocent people,” the PTI chief said while addressing a post-rally press conference in the federal capital. He said the government was not sincere with the people of Waziristan. He criticised the government for showing hypocrisy on the issue, and asked the rulers to stop lying to the people of Pakistan.
Defending his decision to return from Tank, the cricket legend-turned politician said that he took the decision to ensure the safety of PTI workers, rally participants and journalists. “Who would have been responsible if the caravan was hit by miscreants in the dark,” he said. He said that his march was stopped by the military because it was too late to enter South Waziristan.
When asked if he had cut the rally short after getting a telephone call from someone, Imran said that it was Nawaz Sharif’s practice to withdraw rallies on telephone calls. He referred to the long march by Nawaz Sharif when the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief returned from Gujranwala, allegedly on a phone call.
FLAYING FAZL: Imran said that hurdles were created by Fazlur Rehman and the government to stop the march from proceeding towards Waziristan. He said that while foreign journalists and activists had come to Pakistan to protest against US drone strikes and to raise voice on international level, Fazlur Rehman was trying to scandalise their participation to secure his vested interests. He said that Fazl was a right-hand man of President Asif Ali Zardari, and was making fortune just like he did in Musharraf’s regime.

  1. IK has a philosophy:" Identify the problem, then Deal with it with all your might". He advocated this duing the Kashmir (Balakot) Earthquake when he suggesed that the Govenmnet should relocate its seat to Nothern Areas to deal with the problem. He is the only one whose ideas/ philosophy can make any difference to the futue of this country

    • IK just highlighted the old issue which was many times highlighted by other organizations. You might don't know these drone affected families made their camp for more than 3 months in front of parliament house but hardly media noticed them but khan shahib given it glamorous touch all started yelling.Go and research in u TUBE where even you can find 8 years back clips where drone attacks or Pakistan air force were attacking on these people regardless of any warning or justification.
The problem is with people like you who need some glamorous celebrity to highlight the issue.Next time drone victim should ask to Nargis or Meera to have long march in their favor so that you would watch and listen carefully their real fatal problem

    • Hate to pop ur baloon..IK is a typical politician.. Why doesn't he address the root of this issue – the Taliban!!! …. Get rid of the Taliban, and the drones will stop… Does ur ladla IK has the guts to stand up to the Talibans? With Nawab sharif or zardari, it is well known that they r thieves.. With IK u have no idea what he is up to? Better to have known rogues than an unknown …

For God Sake this has been noticed long time ago but here in Pakistan we have been ditched into multiple problems so this problem is highlighted off and on but those who are concerned about it is all time chased management about this one of grave problem of Pakistan.Malal 's target is blow to all people like me who want to live and die in this country while serving it at all cost. She could have been targeted by our corrupt establishment who is posing best to save her life too or less chances that Taliban might hit her but what ever has done it is complete failure of civic insecurity to all like me contrary to claim of our security and intelligences services.
