Baloch calls for early elections

Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaqat Baloch on Monday demanded that President Asif Zardari dissolve the national and provincial assemblies and announce the election schedule.
In a statement issued at Mansoora, he said that due to the dual citizenship and fake degrees, the parliament has lost its credibility. He said in these circumstances, the president should announce new elections process. He claimed that elections for local government before the national elections would be a useless democratic process.
He said the time has come for a consensus care-taker government set up to be established and that Election Commission of Pakistan be authorized to conduct free and fair elected
Appreciating the PTI peace march towards Waziristan, he said a change in national policy is needed to stop the drone attacks and US slavery.
“Stoppage of PTI march is saying no to democracy and all political parties should be allowed to work in Waziristan,” he added.
He said opposition parties including PML-N and JUI-F had passed anti US resolutions and now they must avoid taking steps that end in favor of the US and the president Zardari.
Liaqat Baloch condemned the firing incident on MNA Nafeesa Shah Jalsa in Khairpur which took several lives including political workers and journalists. He expressed his deep sorrow over the killing of innocent people and demanded of the government to bring the culprits to justice as soon as possible.
