Toyota enjoys trust of Pakistani consumers

Indus Motors being the leading seller of the flagship Toyota Corolla in the Asian region, proves that Toyota enjoys the trust of Pakistani consumers, this was stated by Miyamoto, EVP, External Affairs, Toyota Motor Asia Pacific while speaking at 21st annual dealer conference of Indus Motor Company here in Karachi.
He congratulated the IMC on its record performance in 2012 and expressed hope that the company would face all challenges head on and continue to post substantial growth in coming years.
Chairman, IMC Ali S. Habib, in his address, mentioned that auto industry did well during FY12 despite a very challenging macro environment. However, he pointed of the current environment in the country is hostile towards domestic car production as the government policies favor import of used cars. He said not only IMC but the entire industry is suffering tremendously because of huge influx of used cars.
He stressed the need of upholding ‘Customer First’ philosophy by the dealership staff so that customer may realize the value of after-sale service which differentiates new cars from old imported cars. He also stated that IMC team and all its dealerships will continue to strive harder to sustain this growth and will sail through this difficult period soon.
Indus Motor Company’s 21st Annual Dealer Conference, under the theme, “Rhythm of Success” was attended by the Dealership CEOs, officials of Toyota Motor Corporation Japan, Toyota Tsusho Corporation, Toyota Motor Asia Pacific, senior management from House of Habib, business partners and the Indus Management Team.
To recognize the dealers’ efforts, awards were presented during the conference to the best dealerships in the three regions. The Nationwide Sales Award was won by Toyota Faisalabad Motors whereas the Service and Customer Relations awards were won by Toyota Central Motors and the overall Nationwide Best Performance Award was bagged by Toyota Southern Motors.

  1. The domestic car mafia has been charging exuberant prices for sub-standard vehicles atleast by europeen standards! I am not in favouring of bring down import tarrifs though since increase in car ownership would aggravate congestion, pollution and increase our oil bil! The government should instead focus on mass transportion, in cities as large as karachi a subway could be profitable!
