Shahid Kapoor has been having it tough over the past few months. One of his films, a Hindi remake of South film Vettai was canned, while he opted out of a Maneesh Sharma film that also didn’t take off. He was gung-ho about both projects and underwent weight training for the two very different roles, to no avail. For the Vettai remake, he had to beef up and for Maneesh’s film, he had to lose weight as he played a college-going boy in the latter film. After six months of hardcore weight-training for Vettai, he learned that the film had been canned. He got himself back on his feet and proceeded to lose weight for Maneesh’s film. After eight years of regular gymming, Shahid took a break of four months in order to look unmuscular. He reportedly left this film because of differences between him and the producers.
