Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) issued 370,464 traffic tickets with fines amounting to Rs. 90.3215 million imposed on traffic rules violators during the first 9 months of the current year 2012. As per details, acting SSP traffic police, Khalid Rasheed while talking to agencies, said that to ensure the smooth of traffic on city roads the traffic police issued traffic tickets to drivers on severe violations of traffic rules. He informed that action in accordance with the law was taken against 19,368 drivers for using mobile phones while driving. Similarly, 9,036 vehicles were issued traffic tickets for having tinted glasses, while15, 413 drivers were fined for wrong parking, which created many hurdles in the smooth flow of traffic.
