Deputy Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Southern Punjab Information Secretary Shaukat Mehmood Basra has said on Sunday that Hamza Shahbaz has become de facto ruler of Punjab as Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif has been pursuing his business interests abroad.
“Shahbaz Sharif criticises the presidency but he must account for the unconstitutional occupation of the Punjab Chief Minister Secretariat by MNA Hamza Shahbaz Sharif”, he said. Deputy Opposition Leader said that Shahbaz had enough time to launch mud-slinging campaign against the government even during his foreign visits but he had no time to spare for an assembly session or to call a meeting of the Punjab cabinet.
Basra said that Punjab CM had not convened a single meeting of the Punjab cabinet during the past four months, adding that Shahbaz was an autocrat who did not listen to any advice. He said that the reality of manipulated popularity surveys would be exposed in the by-polls and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would face defeat, adding that no Zia-ul-Haq would come to the rescue of PML-N.
