Envoy desires Australian team to play in Pakistan

Australian High Commissioner Peter Hayward says he is in contact with Pakistan Cricket Board over Kangaroos XI tour to the country.
Talking to the media at Shalimar Cricket Ground, Peter said he was in contact with PCB Chairman regarding Australia’s proposed visit to Pakistan.
However, he refrained giving any timeline about the visit of Australian team, who was crushed by Windies in T20 Semi Final last night.
On occasion street children of suburbs of capital Islamabad played with handicap cricket team of Pakistan at the ground. “Australia would avail Pakistan’s experience about handicap cricket,” the ambassador said.
Pakistan’s handicap team is waiting for visa approval from India, where it has planned playing three 1-days and two Twenty20 at Ferozabad.
Pakistan Cricket Association for Physical Handicap Abbas Hashmi assured the commissioner his all-out support to make handicap cricket team in Australia.
Commenting on ‘deserted cricket grounds’ of Pakistan, he viewed that both internal and external problems had made this problem more complex. “Our mistakes and not so good intentions of some cricket powers are the major reasons of our deserted ground.” Misha’al Trust Director Ms Zeba Hussain shed light on involving street children in sports activities.
“The basic aim is to keep them abreast with modern changes through social, sports and educational activities.”
