One child was killed and at least 14 people including four policemen sustained injuries in a blast occurred on Zarghoon road area here on Monday.
According to police sources, the bomb was planted in a motorcycle parked at double road that went off with a big bang resulting in killing one child and injuries to 13 people including three constables and one Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI).
Police sources said that the blast destroyed cars and rickshaws parked nearby the incident site, adding that it was remote controlled explosion and five kilogram explosive material was planted in a motorcycle.
Rescue and security teams reached the blast site, which was cordoned off by the police.
Senior police official Wazir Khan Nasir said the bomb was detonated through a remote-controlled device.
Police and FC personnel had surrounded the site of the explosion which had also caused damage to nearby buildings.
The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta for treatment. Nasir said most of the victims were civilians and that at least two of the wounded are in serious condition.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
