Jamshoro Deputy Commissioner Agha Sohail Ahmed has asked National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to probe the embezzlement of Rs 250 million in Right Bank Out Fall Drain (RBOD) project.
The deputy commissioner has written a letter to the NAB to probe a heavy corruption and misuse of funds in the Right Bank Out Fall Drain (RBOD), a national level project originally known as the Main Nara Valley Drain (MNVD). He wrote that he had received several complaints from the public that Land Acquisition Officer Salim Baloch had paid the hefty amount of Rs 250 million to blue-eyed persons in fake names of farmers.
The construction work on RBOD-I and III is almost completed, while the work on major RBOD-II, which will carry the drainage of RBOD I and III into the sea is still incomplete due to disagreement over the design of the project between the centre and the Sindh government.
