An FIR was lodged on Friday against some high officials of the Sindh police on the orders of Sindh High Court (SHC). According to details, petitioner Rehmat Din submitted an application that high officials of Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Hayderabad had kidnapped and harassed him and his family. He took the stance that police was not lodging an FIR against their high ups.
On the order of SHC, however, an FIR No 718/2012 under section 365 and 395 of kidnapping and harassing has been lodged against SP Ghulam Nabi Keerio, SHO Naim Rao, SI Mohammad Khan and others.
Crackdown against encroachments : A crackdown is continuing for the removal of encroachments in the way of the Lyari Expressway project. This was stated by the Commissioner of Karachi, Roshan Ali Shaikh, while presiding over a meeting in his office on Friday. He informed that since Tuesday as many as 90 encroachments have been demolished in the area.
Roshan Shaikh said that the crackdown against encroachments is continuing in a smooth manner. He said that the affectees should be ensured of alternate plot as well as compensation.
The commissioner was of the view that for the speedy construction of the Lyari Expressway the crackdown against the encroachments would continue.
