Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaaf Social Media members were shocked when confronted with warning that state-sponsored elements may be monitoring PTI email accounts. The warning reads “we believed state-sponsored attackers may be attempting to compromise your account or computer”.
The incident has prompted allegations from PTI for possible efforts by the government agencies to monitor and track political Cyber Space based on the appearance of the warning message while using Gmail accounts.
According to a blogspot entry from PTI, which alleges the government of possible cyber attack, a recent Google Online Security blog article reading ‘Security warnings for suspected state-sponsored attacks’ to warn its users of attacks from state-sponsored agents further strengthens their suspicion.
PTI further notes it would put extra layers of security to foil any attempts to breach its cyper space denying explanation of basis of allegation arguing that it might help offenders.
