Federal Law Minister Farooq H. Naek Friday said he prepared the draft of the letter to be sent to the Swiss government, keeping in view the reservations of Supreme Court (SC).
Talking to media after the hearing of the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) Implementation case, he said President Asif Ali Zardari enjoys complete immunity under Article-248 of the Constitution and no criminal proceedings can be initiated against him as long as he is the head of the state.
He said the bench put forward its reservations and he also came up with some reservations from the government as well, adding the closed-doors deliberations were undertaken for the larger interest of national integrity and mutual peaceful co-existence of the national institutions.
Commenting on the close-door deliberations, the federal law minister said this is to foil the anti-state forces, who want to derail the system in the country, but, the system will not be allowed to be derailed.
He noted he will have consultations with Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf over the draft of the letter to finalize it.
wasting time of People of Pakistan, Zardari will do anything to prolong court proceedings, as they have done it in the past for so many years, they prolong the proceeding by lame excuses, dimentia, illness, immunity blah blah. Then claim no one prove any corruption against them so they are clean! He and his late misses were convicted on this swiss case, were on appeal when NRO played its role and stop Pakistan as complainant. Courts dont want them to make "shaheed" and in the process taking so long to put an end to this saga!
