Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri, JUI-F parliamentary leader in Senate said Friday those holding dual nationality should not be allowed representation in parliament.
Talking to media men outside parliament House he said people having dual citizenship should not be allowed representation in the parliament.
He went on to say no foreigner could work in the interest of Pakistan. Imported prime minister came here in the past and they returned to their previous jobs abroad after the expiry of their tenure of premiership. Example of former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz is before us, he added.
Minister for Overseas Pakistan Dr Farooq Sattar said legislation should be made in parliament on dual nationality issue because overseas Pakistanis have rendered unprecedented service for the development of country and democracy. Amendment be made in constitution on this matter, he stressed.
Those holding dual nationality are promoting soft image of Pakistan in the world, he said adding decision in dual nationality case had fomented unrest among overseas Pakistanis.
